Bristol-based Deazy – a tech startup connecting enterprises with global development talent – has acquired Geektastic, a provider of customisable, expert-reviewed technical skills assessments. The acquisition allows Deazy to demonstrate the quality of its developer community to potential clients.

Founded in 2019, Deazy partners with companies like the RAC and Popeyes to help accelerate their digital delivery by matching them with top developers from its network of 85 partners worldwide. The startup’s in-house experts oversee projects and provide support to ensure success.

“Every single tech leader in an enterprise will be only too aware of the challenges in finding the right talent to deliver their product roadmaps and projects quickly and effectively,” said Andy Peddar, CEO of Deazy.

By acquiring Geektastic and its repertoire of code challenges and reviews, Deazy can now readily showcase the expertise of developers on its platform.

“We always aim to make digital delivery easier for our clients by giving them access to the best developers and full product delivery teams, and Geektastic helps us achieve that,” added Peddar.

Geektastic’s peer-reviewed coding assessments offer insights into candidates’ technical abilities. Its network of 300 “Ubergeek” reviewers from companies like Google, Amazon, and Accenture streamline hiring and free up clients’ internal recruitment resources.

As part of the acquisition, Geektastic CEO Rick Brownlow will join Deazy as its vetting and quality lead to eventually incorporate soft skills measurement into the platform’s assessments.

“Enterprises have an almost insatiable need for high-calibre experts in software engineering, machine learning AI, and data engineering to complement the gaps in their teams, but some perceive working with external developers as risky,” explained Brownlow.

“We remove that risk entirely and will be expanding the offering to include soft skills and cultural fit assessments later this year.”

This acquisition enables Deazy to provide end-to-end vetting of developers’ hard and soft skills, positioning it as an attractive option for enterprises seeking to augment their digital capabilities.

With the talent crunch facing many companies today, Deazy aims to offer an all-in-one solution for securing quality global talent quickly and effectively.
