Grammarly has released a new SDK that aims to improve the writing standard of your app’s users.

A good standard of writing can be the difference between getting a job, making a sale, or retaining a customer. The Text Editor SDK released today is the next step in Grammarly’s mission “to improve lives by improving communication”.

The SDK provides everything developers need to deliver easy-to-use, real-time writing assistance across four main categories: correctness (grammar and writing mechanics), clarity (conciseness and readability), engagement (vocabulary and variety), and delivery (formality, confidence, and tone).

Grammarly says that billions of writing suggestions that it’s sent are accepted every month, enabling it to offer a powerful and constantly evolving tool.

Brad Hoover, CEO of Grammarly, said:

“Grammarly empowers our users to drive impactful communication outcomes with our trusted suggestions.

Today, we’re excited to launch Grammarly for Developers, enabling developers to deliver the same writing assistance and outcomes to their users.”

Two early adopters of the Text Editor SDK are Frontify and Superhuman.

“Amazing and consistent brand expressions don’t just happen. They are the result of proper guidance and empowerment for the people behind them,” said Frontify Founder and CEO Roger Dudler.

“Grammarly for Developers opens the door for faster and more accurate on-brand communications for users—making it easier to write the right way across a range of touchpoints—and we can’t wait to explore the impact.”

Superhuman is a costly ($30/month) email service that needs to offer premium features to justify its high price tag. One of the ways it’s doing that is by integrating Grammarly.

“Superhuman is about helping our customers get through their inbox twice as fast, and a big part of that is giving them the confidence that they will be understood as intended,” commented Superhuman Founder and CEO Rahul Vohra.

“Our customers told us that Grammarly is critical for their work. We are excited about Grammarly for Developers, as it will help companies like ours build even better products for our users.”

Grammarly’s SDK currently supports English language assistance for web-based applications running via browsers or Chromium-based desktop apps.
